Riverrock 2022 Was One For The Books!

Throwback to Riverrock a couple weekends ago and celebrating sports, music, & river life in RVA! 🏃🏽‍♀️🎶🌅 I can't believe this was my first time going, but I'm so glad I finally did! If you don't know, Dominion Energy Riverrock (@riverrockrva) is a 3-day outdoor sports and music festival held at Brown's Island every year since 2009 and is hosted by Venture Richmond (@venturerichmond) and Sports Backers (@sportsbackers). This year marked their first year back in-person after holding virtual and hybrid events for the past two years. Here's some of the things I enjoyed:

🥗 FOOD // There were so many YUM food trucks at this year's lineup it was hard to choose which one to eat at! I decided to try the Californian Bowl with organic grilled chicken from Goatocado (@goatocado) as it had been several years since I last ate there. They have an option for mac and cheese or quinoa as the base and I went with the latter since it was so hot outside already. 🥵 The food was better than I remember and definitely gave me a reason to go back more often now!

🐶 DOGS // In my humble and honest opinion, the Ultimate Air Dogs Contest was probably the BEST part of the festival! It was so adorable to watch all the pups compete 🥰🥇

🌺 DESSERT // Tried West Ray’s (@westraysfinest) for my first time and I’ve NEVER seen a more pigmented dessert before I got the Blood Orange Hibiscus Sorbet!

🧗🏽‍♀️ ROCK CLIMBING // I didn't participate in this activity, but it sure was EXHILARATING to watch the competitors go at the courses! It was awesome to see the whole crowd collectively cheering for each participant as they made each attempt.

🚣‍♀️ SUP & KAYAKING // Didn't get a picture of this one...but what a way to showcase some of the best ways to take advantage of The James. Waterfront RVA (@waterfrontrva) and Appomattox River Company (@paddleva) had FREE paddleboard and kayak rentals all 3 days which was the perfect kid-friendly activity!

🎸 MUSIC // Last but NOT least was the music! Riverrock had plenty of bands in their lineup from sunrise to sundown for each day of the weekend. It definitely became crowded by the evening so plan accordingly!
