Happy #WorldRhinoDay! š¦š„° Did you know there are five remaining rhinoceros species in the world, and ZooTampa at Lowry Park is home to TWO of them! š¤Æ While at ZooTampa, I had the amazing opportunity to feed Jamie, a Greater one-horned rhino aka an Indian rhino, and meet her baby, Gronk, up close! And if you canāt tell, I am smiling really big under my mask. š
Baby Gronk is named after the one and only Rob Gronkowski and also just celebrated his first birthday 10 days ago! š„³š Rhinos are my favorite animal and the Indian Rhino Feeding was an unforgettable experience Iām so glad I could be a part of.
Besides the rhinos, I also loved the Manatee Critical Care Center which cares for ill or injured manatees to rehabilitate and release them back to Florida wildlife. I visited the center at the perfect time while they had their feeding and it was so COOL to watch them chomp away from the observation area. š
In the primate area, I LOVED baby Kazuki who is a Siamang Gibbon ape and was so energetic running around causing his mom all sorts of trouble. š
Also pictured are some š¦„šš¦š¦š§š¦.
The cool part about ZooTampa is that they have rides including a safari ride, roller coaster, splash ride, and carousel as well as several shows and animal encounters throughout the day like the rhino feeding. š¢š AND, I of course have to mention that their food was AMAZE and theyāre even home to the first-ever Wendyās frosty cart with customizable toppings like crushed Oreos and lucky charms marshmallows. š¤¤š¦š
Overall, my experience @ZooTampa was SO much fun and I canāt wait to go back and watch these adorable babies grow up! š¤©š„ŗš¤
