So so happy I got to visit Burnside Farms for their Sunflower Sunsets before they closed for the summer season! 🤗🌻 The farm had to hit pause due to the recent rain and flooding but thankfully, the sun showed itself so the farm could reopen for one final week. The 2020 Summer of Sunflowers was supposed to run from mid-July to Labor Day but they have officially closed early. The ticket was only $14 and included 3 pick your own sunflowers! Many of the sunflowers were drooping and dainty (which was expected) but there were still plenty of flourished ones that were perfect to take home! 💛
They even loaned out these chic sunflower umbrellas and snips for cutting the flowers.🌂✂️
Located about 2 hours north of Richmond, Bunside Farms is considered one of the most beautiful sunflower fields in all of Virginia and the Washington metropolitan area! It was especially ✨magical✨ to be able to watch the sunset on their final day open for the season! 😍🌻
They had an area near the exit where you could trim your flowers to fit in mason jars which you could then buy and bring home with you. Overall, it was a pleasant experience (with lots of social distancing) besides a little bit of mud and mosquitos. ☺️🥾🦟 This was my first time visiting a sunflower farm and definitely not my last! I already cannot wait until next year! 🌻🥰
